American Red Cross worker B. Peel Willett: 8000 Albanians farmers killed or burned alive by Serbian troops in 1913.

According to B. Peel Willett, an American aid agent, in a report he wrote about his observations in Northern Albania, Serbian troops destroyed a hundred villages without warning, without any provocation and without any reason. 12,000 houses were burned and blown up, 8,000 farmers were killed or burned alive and 125,000 were left homeless. All the cattle were taken. They did the same with the newly harvested grains. Farmers, like persecuted animals, fled to Elbasan, Tirana, Shkodër and distant villages. I just returned from a trip through these hit areas. I saw villages in ruins and houses burned or blown up. I saw starving refugees. I saw women and children dying of hunger.”
