Ismail Kryeziu was an Albanian patriot who fought in the Battle of Bardheti (Kryezi) of 1878 together with the Albanians from Pukë in Mirdite. Kryeziu blocked the Shkodër-Prizren road during the years of the League of Prizren. In this time, Kryeziu sheltered and accompanied Ymer Prizren, the leader of the Albanian league. In a document from Istanbul it is stated that Kryeziu specifically sheltered Ymer. A portrait of Kryeziu was painted in 1978 by Fatmir Haxhiu (1927-2001).
