On September 27, 1913, the Dutch paper “Historische Kranten, Erfgoed Leiden en Omstreken Leidsche Courant” published an article mentioning how the Serbian governments atrocities on illegally invaded Albanian territories led to uprising among Albanian tribes:
“We must decisively protest against the attempts of the Serbian press to make autonomous Albania responsible for the uprising against Serbia. It should be noted that this concerns fighting by Albanians who live in the area ceded to Serbia.”

Certainly, there have also been clashes between some Albanian tribes and Serbian detachments, but the Serbian government has no right to file complaints about this, because three clashes were caused by the fact that Serbian detachments unlawfully invaded the Albanian areas, violated the market freedom guaranteed by the powers and shot market visitors without any form of trial. In response to these clashes, Serbia certainly does not need to mobilize an entire army.

The reason for this is probably that almost half of the new Serbia is in revolt and that the Serbian government is mobilizing large troops to quickly suppress the uprising. The new Albanian state has nothing to do with Serbia’s internal difficulties. We of course leave these statements at the expense of the Albanian Korrespondenze who want to point out that Isa Boletini,a member of the provisional Albanian government, is one of the leaders of the resistance.”
