The Albanian tribe of “Gasulus” (Gaçuli) or “Gazul” “Gasulus, Gacolus”, “Gazul” were Albanian Ragusans citizen in the 15th century, originally Albanese (Albanian) from the Zadrima region near Alessio.1

Johannes Gasulus) originally from northern Albania (Mirdita, or Zadrima e Shkodra), Dominican priest and humanist. His activity was in the field of astronomy, mathematics, physics, philosophy, diplomacy, art. In Musantio’s chronological table, we find Gazuli among the greatest mathematicians of the 15th century. His theory of “celestial constellations” would guide Copernicus (1473-1543) in his studies on astronomy.”2,3,4
