J. C. Hobhouse in 1809: “The Albanians of the three faiths call themselves Albanians”

In 1809, English traveler J.C. Hobhouse visited Albania where he stated that the Albanians of the three faiths did not call themselves, as was the case with other populations of the Empire, neither “Muslims” nor “Christians”, but primarily with their ethnic name “Albanians”.
