Prene Bardi (Alb. Prenë Bardhi)

“Albanian Prene Bardi, commanding an armed vessel of the Republic, commissioned in March 1637 to bring some Turkish officials back to Ulcing (Ulqin)” 1

Domino Filippo (Philippo) Albanese (alb. Dom Filipi)

Domino Filippo (Philippo) Albanese (d. 1508 in Ravenna) was a Venetian commander of Albanian origin who lived in the 16th century. 2,3, 4 He reportedly was a horse leader in service of the Republic of Venice.5

Captain Çucar (Chuchar or Chucharo) (alb. Çucari?)

Captain Çucar (Chuchar or Chucharo) was an Albanian who lived in the 16th century. Chuchar served in the Battle of Pavia in 1525. During a battle, Chuchar was captured in Moncennis at Novales.6,7

Strenuo Jacomo Albanese (alb. Stren Jacomi)

“Meleagro from Forli had gone towards Castel Franco where inside is Jacomo Albanese, our constable and 150 Spaniards the captain of the infantry had also gone there with his company Item our having arrived in Asola so with the help of the peasants from around there and in the castle those who were held by the king had been brought so that they were plowing the castle underfoot”8

Simon Albanese

“… Simon the Albanian son of Janisa, a constable, was brought to Ravenna and is detained in the treaty. This Simon was brought from Verona in irons by the constable of the capetan because he was sent there to make 200 infantry and by the council of it was written there that he was to be sent from here to the prexom in Ravenna.”

Moneta Stefano Albanese (alb. Monet Shtjefeni?)

“… will take the things and will be aid to the provider Griti, and he was taken from the stajera and the fountain called Stefano Moneta by grace from the Signoria to the sons of the corporal of Zitolo is dead named … so that the corporal of Stefano is ruined. This is of Albanian nation and well-deserving alias of this state and was taken by Germans last year…”9

Giovanni Caputo (alb. Gjon Kaputa?) of the 14th century

“But certain crossbowmen of Signor Antonio Savello, among whom was a good Albanian soldier called Giovanni Caputo of San Giusto”… 10
