According to Dr Ferdinand Hueppe, Angelis Kousmopolis was an Albanian and not a Greek.

Angeli Kosmopoli (Angelis Kosmopoulis) (1834-1937) was an Albanian, according to German traveler Dr. Ferdinand Hueppe in 1897

In 1897, Dr. Ferdinand Hueppe published his book “Zur Rassen und Sozialhygiene der Griechen im Alterthum und in der Gegenwart ALTERTHUM UND IN DER GEGENWAR” where he mentions that his guide Angeli Kosmopoli (Angelis Kosmopoulis) was in fact an Albanian.

Citation on page 63:

“… unser Führer, Angelis Kosmopulos, ein kräftiger Albanese und der beste Peloponnes-Führer, wusste aber immer Rath.

Translation: “Our guide, Angelis Kosmopulos, a strong Albanese and the best Peloponnese guide, always had advice.”
