In 1821, Greeks massacred Catholic Albanians on the island of Tinos

Publisher and researcher Petrit Latifi.

In the Swedish paper “Courjren” from 1821, no. 41, published on September 17 in Stockholm, we can read the following:

Original text:

Translation:

“It is remarkable that these facts are confirmed or denied in Austrian newspapers, whose reports from Constantinople go to July 31. – The persecutions against the Christians are not only the work of the Turks, but also the Christians themselves, when particular sects persecute each other. The Catholic Albanians have taken the field against the Greeks, and they have murdered Catholics on the island of Tinos.”
