The following articles discusses the history of the Albanians of 15th to 20th century Croatia.

Arbanas – the Arbanasić family from Donja Lomnica, the ancestors of today’s Arbanas, is first mentioned in sources in 1499. In 1560, Ivan Arbanasić was granted nobility, and in 1589, Benko Arbanasić is first mentioned. The first known forester in the Turopolje municipality was Juraj Arbanas (1611). In 1613, Stjepan Arbanas was elected as the fiškuš of the Turopolje noble municipality, and in 1614, as the Turopolje captain.

Martin Arbanas was elected as the gatekeeper of the Turopolje municipality in 1615. In the period 1647-1649, Juraj Arbanas-Benak is mentioned in sources. Nikola Arbanas was elected as the captain of Turopolje in 1746, and Janko Arbanas as the forester (he served as the municipal servant and fireman for many years). At that time, the Arbanas cooperative numbered up to thirty caretakers in Donja Lomnica. Juraj and Ana Arbanas are mentioned in Donja Lomnica in 1796. (B.M.)

Arbanas Benko saw in 1868 that the judge’s accounts for the noble brothers had been read and accepted as good, so that neither the judge from the municipality nor the municipality from the judge had anything to ask for.

Arbanas Janko-Vrbanasov. In 1919, he was elected to the new Agrarian Committee on the proposal of Josip Stepanić. On 14 August 1921, he proposed the following conclusion at the meeting, that councilors from our court should be selected who, together with the councilors of the other judges, would review the accounts for 1918 from the month of November and December, then for 1919, 1920 and 1921, and with regard to the time when this review would be carried out, the committee should come to an agreement with Mr. Turopoljski County.

Arbanas Josip kbr. 1904-05.was a farmer from Sučija

Arbanas Josip – Bugnar (1888-1963) member of the DVD, judge, appraiser, craftsman, 1919.g. councilor in the Public Reading Room, 1920.g. with his brother Vinko and his partner Šandor Lewi on April 24, they put a steam-powered sawmill into operation, the sawmill was called “Braća Arbanas i Drug” Check if it’s Josip or someone else – Josip is Vinko’s nephew.

Arbanas Vinko-Cukorin was born on 30.11.1866, in the Arbanas-Bolteki cooperative kbr31 (Stepanska 5) at the old manor, he was a tailor by profession. He went to America and after his return he built a steam mill and threshing machine on a piece of land that belonged to him (Stepanska 3). He had a wife Tinika who was a maid for the Modić-Bedeković family, in 1926 he sold everything to Alojz Lektorić-Libro, a returnee from America (according to Vinko’s nephew Mijo, Vinko mapped the land somewhere in Zagreb and had to sell it.
