Graves and monuments of Albanian patriots and heroes in annexed territories (1913-1944)

Between 1913 and 1944, several Albanian patriots died fighting against Serbo-Montenegrin imperialism, and today there are graves and monuments of these Albnians in Montenegrin territory. The names are the following:

Albanian fighters from Rugova defended territories between Mokna to Qafe Cakorri

Zhuj Brahim Nokshi fell in battle against Montenegro in 1913.

In 1944, Imer Maliqi-Bucaj and his deputy Bali Bajram Mekulaj defended the Albanian border against Montenegrin troops.

Lan Selimi, an Albanian fighter from Lluke, was killed at the Murina bridge.

Imer Maliqi refused to retreat fighting between Sjekarica and Qafe Prijedori and Shekullar.

Xheme Bajraktari from Arzhanica defended the border of Mokna.

Imer Muca was killed in Prijedol and buried with Lan Selimi at the Arzhanica cemetary.

Zheme Bajraktari and Azem Mehmeti of Arzhanice and Bali Bajrami of Nokshiqi were killed and remain to this day in Shekullar.

In Cakorr, there are graves of the four Albanians from the Kukalaj famiiy of Drenoc and Decani, and of Sahit Mehmeti of Logja. There are also the graves of Jakup Bulla of Nokshiqi.

In Vraqes Pass, there are over 20 graves of martyrs from the Dukagjin Plain, who were led by Hajdar Jupa and Beci of Gjakova. There are also fighters from Nokshiqi buried there.

In Vaganice, there are 12-13 graves of the soldiers of Shaban Polluzha who had gone to defend Sanxhak.

In 1913, the famous Sokol Cela of Cel Shabani was killed at the border. There are also 60-70 tombstones of the Prizren batallion who were killed in 1919.

At the Bajram Kulla of Qafe Javorkut, the martyrs Grosho Ibra and Ibish Sahiti from Rugova were buried together.
From Maja e Prehte to Qafe Bari, the border was defended by Zhuk Hazhia with his volunteers.

From Qaf Meteriz to Murgashe, the border was defended by Tahir Coli and Sali Rama.

From Murgashe to Smilevice, the border was defended by Rize Zymeri with Sak Fazline – the bajraktar, who was killed and buried in Smilevice.
