Biography

Imer Imer’s life has not been easy at all because of the discord he had with the regimes of the time, either with the foreign invaders or with the Slavic and Albanian communism, which was a reflection of that Slav.

Imeri has often found himself between two fires, threatened by two fronts, death awaited him on both sides, but death for the homeland was a sweeter death. Imer Imer’s word weighed on him wherever he was, people followed him with sympathy and acted according to what he asked.

Imer Imer Thaçi was born in 1910 in the village of Sakat in Puka. Ngeli was fatherless from an early age as an only son. As it was at that time, the mother being a young daughter-in-law, a widow, was sent back for the son of Aja Hasan. Then it happens with two sisters, Gjyla and Xheva and brother Rrustem. He goes to school in the time of King Zog and begins state services, being loyal to the monarchy.

He served in Pukë, Shijak, Fier and Korçë. With the invasion of Albania by the Italian fascists, he joined the liberation of the country with the nationalist group led by Abaz Kupi. Friend and close friend of colonel Xhemal Laçi, Pashk Curri and dom Nikollë Mazrrek, who served in the district of Puka.

Details about his life are given from other files:- “During the time of Zog, he was in the gendarmerie for more than 6 years. In 1934, he was sent to Durres to school to become a gendarmerie officer, which he finished and graduated with the rank of captain, continuing this duty until 1939, when he resigned due to the occupation of the country by the Italians.

He participated in Durrës alongside Abaz Kupi in the resistance of April 7, 1939.
