Translation:
“About an hour southeast of Bojnik was the Arnaut village of Mrveš. Through that village flows the river Baca, which rises near Prekopčelica, one hour west of here.”
Serbian source:
“По часа југоисточно од Бојника било је арнаутско село Мрвеш. Кроз то село тече речица Баце, која изви- ре код Прекопчелице, одавде један час западно.”
Merrvesh derives from the Albanian words “Merr” and “vesh” meaning “Understand” (Literally “take ear”). This name raises the high probability that this was once an Albanian village. Specially considering Serbian sources from 1800 (cited above) mentions the “Arnaut village of Mrveš”.
