Serbian atrocities in Taravi and the executions in Kacanik in 1913

In 1913, the Austrian newspaper “Breisgauer Nachrichten Verkündigungsblatt der Stadt Emmendingen” published an article of reported Serbian atrocities in Taravi where the Albanian Vesel Vekos (Vesel Veka) and his sons were murdered by Serbian soldiers. 25 Albanians from Drenica were also arrested and executed in Kacanik.

Translation:

“Vienna, September 12th. Albanian correspondence reports from Djakowa (Gjakova) that the Serbian authorities arrested the chiefs of Drenis, a total of 7 men, and another 18 people and had them brought to Katschanik. Messengers who arrived from there report that all those arrested were executed by the Serbs. In Taravi, the son of one of the Albanians seen, Vesel Vekos, was shot by Serbian soldiers. During the night they murdered the other three sons. A report was immediately made to the provisional government in Valona.”
