Written by Petrit Latifi

Bronze plate found, of illyrian civilizations, but written in the pellazian alphabet. This is proof that the pellazians and the illyrs were the same people. The illyrs were the descendants of the older pellazian people, who used the phoenician alphabet of cadm, before the latin alphabet was created. Our whole history is evidence, which is written in stone.

Illyrian bronze plaque that represents an extraordinary document, to clarify the political form of the illyrian cities and the complicated nature of its legal institutions. Location; fier, but it is from gurzeza.
Date; end of the 3rd century bc

•The ancient city of gurëzeza, evidence of the illyrian civilization, located in the municipality of cakran, 17 km from fier. archaeologists have estimated that gurzeza, whose ancient name is thought to be bardhyli, is as important for the albanian cultural heritage as apolonia, the ancient city in pojan of fier or bylysi, in the hekal area of the mallakastra district.

•The discoveries that have come to light so far show that the civilization in gurëzeza begins from the neolithic period to the middle ages.
The ancient city is located in a geographical position, exposed on the slope of the village of cakran. the surrounding wall is 2100 m long and the total area within the surrounding wall is 23 ha, almost equal to bylysi.
Bylysi has also been built since antiquity by the balaios tribe, a very old civilization, but we still need archaeological excavations to prove who this progressive tribe was, which flourished during the early bronze age.

•From the discoveries made so far, it turns out that traces of the middle neolithic are found near the school. the bronze age is also represented. during surface excavations, objects and findings were obtained in varibop, which date back to the 12th century bc. Also in this area, objects dating back to the 8th-6th centuries bc were found.

•The peak of the development of the ancient city was the 4th century bc. traces of life and development in late antiquity have been discovered in several villages such as cakran, kreshpan, vjosë, gorishovë.
Gurëzeza has served as a very important economic, political and social center. this is evidenced by the discovery there of a treasure of
3500 pieces of bronze and silver coins. Based on these findings, it is thought that gurzeza served as the center of the illyrian king monuni.

Translation of the table by n. ceka
“When bion kleigenea was prytan (the highest official of the city elected once a year) in the month of psidreos, on the eighteenth day, the tamias aristen exakius reported to the elders and the ecclesia that since the peripolarch aristen parmēni had done good things for the balaites, and even more, it seemed right to the balaites to crown the peripolarch aristen parmēni with a golden crown of five entrances for his merits. and the peripolarch aristen parmēni, thanking the balaites for the privileges they had granted him, crowned the koinon of the balaites with the same crown.

•The balaites judged it right that the decision be engraved on a bronze tablet and placed in a conspicuous place, for the good things done by him earlier. that children should also be members of the general rights. that the grammarians should also become members of the rights of parmen teisarhu and bul abai”.
