The stolen Illyrian tombstone from Durrës in Belgrade Museum

Authored by Petrit Latifi

In the Museum of Belgrade, there are several artefacts such as Illyrian tombstones, that have been taken from illyrian archeological sites and brought to Serbia. Quote:

“The collection of stone monuments began when the National Museum in Belgrade was founded. The objects were discovered mainly in Belgrade (Singidunum) and its surroundings. Some of them were found at locations in Kosmaj, Kostolac (Viminacium), Sremska Mitrovica (Sirmium) and other places throughout Serbia. However, some objects were brought from Macedonia and Albania.”

Similar to the Catholic Byzantine ciborium that Serbia stole, we see the same phenomenon here. These artefacts are Illyrian and Dardanian and predate the Slavic era and can there for not be part of Serbian Slavic history.
