Mehmet Delia was an Albanian hero and patriot who fought for Albanian liberation against Serbian oppression and tyranny in the 20th century.

Mehmet Delia was born in the village of Radishevë, in 1891. Leader of the National Liberation Movement (after the fall of Azem Bejta), a distinguished patriot and leader of the war for the liberation of the homeland, a soldier and cadre in the Kingdom of Zog, he initially served in the Gendarmerie of King Zog in Krumë and Tirana, then in charge of the gendarmerie in the Prefecture of Gjirokastra, and finally a lieutenant colonel in the Prefecture of Delvinë and Libohovo.
In the era of Mehmet Delia, the only armed resistance organizations against the then Serbian occupier were illegal movements known as the Albanian Liberation Brigades movement or the Komitee organizations, while those engaged in these movements were called Komites, Cubs or Kaçaks.
Mehmet Delia was among the prominent fighters of the national cause for the liberation and unification of the Albanian lands.
Mehmet had a burning national feeling since a young age and precisely for this fact he was also known as Little Mehmet (he received this epithet due to his engagement since the age of 14 in the Komitee resistance), who was born in 1891 in the village of Radishevë, Municipality of Skenderaj, into a patriotic family, which influenced his patriotic and patriotic formation.
