The Albanian victory against the Montenegrins in the Battle of Berane in 1912

Petrit Latifi

In the Hungarians newspaper “Aradi Közlöny” we can read of the Albanian victory against the Montenegrin troops at the Battle of Berane in 1912:

“London, October 18. In the Berana battle, in which artillery could not prevail due to territorial difficulties, they fought each other with rifles and bayonets. The Turkish garrison had four thousand men, including a thousand Albanian volunteers and a Basibozuk regiment. The Turks fought with the greatest heroism and remained in the trenches even when the Montenegrins appeared before them. Here he fought man-to-man. Finally, the Turks managed to break through the Montenegrins lines with an extremely daring bayonet attack and retreat along the Inek road.”
