In 1916, an armistice was signed by Montenegro after the Austro-Hungarian troops invaded the country and ended Montenegros invasion of Shkodër in 1915. Many atrocities were committed by the Montenegrins against the Albanians. Thus ended the imperialism expansionism of Montenegro. In the Hungarian paper we read:

“Modalities of the Montenegrin armistice.
The Captain and the General Command of the Military Command publishes the terms of the armistice signed with the Montenegrin army on January 25 at 6:00 p.m. The individual points stipulate that all weapons, all kinds of munitions and ships must be handed over. Collection locations Podgorica, Niksic, Danilovgrad, Savnik, Andrijevica and Go-ranszko.
The Montenegrin government is responsible for ensuring that no one misses the service. Deadline in 3 days. The most necessary police and gendarmerie units, the border guards on the Albanian border, also here and partly towards the sands, the trusted people of the authority can be armed with guns.
Since our troops have occupied almost all of Montenegro, they have the right to continue operations until peace is concluded, and the Montenegrin government provides them with all possible support in their operations: it provides accommodation, water and accommodation facilities, the compared to the modest conditions of the country.
The Montenegrin government guarantees that – as long as it is up to it – the people will stay in place; in the event of excitement or serious disturbances, we have the right to take military security measures. All the railways, ports and forts are already in the hands of Link’s troops and will remain there until peace is concluded.
All Austro-Hungarian and German prisoners of war are released on January 25 and handed over in Podgorica. The Montenegrin prisoners of war will be handed over when the peace is concluded. Montenegrin plenipotentiaries are required to report daily on the whereabouts of the government. The government is currently in Podgorica.
The agreement was signed on our behalf by Lieutenant General Weber, Staff Major Schuppick, cs. and who. General Bezir and Major Lompár signed it as Montenegrin commissioners.”
