In 1913, Hungarian leader Miklós invited the Malesori Albanians to Cetinje where they were supposed to agree to give up their territories to the imperialist desires of Montenegro. The Albanian leaders however refused. In the Hungarian newspaper we read:

“King Miklós invited the heads of the Malisor tribes to participate in the meeting in Cetinje, where they will discuss the transfer of the Albanian territories awarded to Montenegro by the ambassador’s meeting. All the tribal chiefs refused the invitation. The today. In various parts of the Malisors land, the agents of King Miklós wanted to bribe influential Malissors to participate in the meeting in Cetinje.”

“It is reported from Belgrade: The population of Ipek and Plevlje sent a memorandum to the Serbian government, in which they object to the annexation to Montenegro and threaten to emigrate.”
