In 1935, the Albanian authorities, having been forced to deal with Yugoslav Serbian invasions, atrocities, war crimes and territorial harassment since the 1920s, decided to mobilize the Albanian army.

“GENEVA, Oct. 17. (Reuter). The Geneva correspondent of the “Dally Telegraph” says he has undisputed confirmation of the rumor circulated here a few days ago that Albania is mobilizing seven batches of its army. This mobilization should mean a response to a considerable concentration of the Yugoslav army near the border of Albania. The Yugoslav force is estimated at approximately 60,000 men. Albanian government circles estimated that the mobilization in Albania would include 15,000 men.”
