In 1913, the Unterinntaler Bote” published an article describing how the Serbo-Montenegrin troopers, after having assaulted Albanian villages, lost, despite being militarily superior, to a group of Albanian Malesori fighters.

“Correspondence reports: Montenegrin and Serbian troops attacked several villages in the area around Pejë. A battle with the Malissors ensued, which ended with the Montenegrin and Serbian troops having to flee with heavy losses. The Montenegrins had to abandon all positions. The gang attacked several Serbian troop detachments and drove them from their quarters.”
