In the German paper “Volkszeitung/Deutsche Volkszeitung” published on June 4, 1927, there was an article reporting that Serbian komitadjis (Chetniks) had attacked the Albanian outpost of Shkodër injuring the commander and several gendarmeries. It also reported that the Serb named Vuko Gijaskovic was arrested in Durrës, most likely suspected of being a Yugoslav spy.
“The Albanian court had the Albanian citizen Vuko Gijaskovic from Durazzo arrested, who holds no rank or mission at the Yugoslav embassy. Equally fantastic is the report thatSerbianKomitatschi attacked an Albanian border post near Scutari, injuring the commander and several gendarmes.”
