Despite being superior militarily against the Albanian forces of 1912, the Serbs lost many soldiers invading regions like Prishtina, Kurshumli and Përpellac in 1912.

“Belgrade, 21 October. According to official reports, the advance of the Serbian army began at 6 a.m. yesterday morning along the entire Serbian-Turkish border. According to private reports, a 26-man Serbian band was completely annihilated south of Prepolac yesterday. The Crown Prince left Nish this morning and took over the command of the Morava Army.

A Serb defeat.

Constantinople, 21 October. According to a local correspondent, Turkish troops attacked three Serbian battalions near Priština and decimated one of them. Official confirmation is still pending. Turkish troops and Albanians have further advanced into Serbia and, despite the resistance of four Serbian battalions, have advanced to Kurshumli.”
