The Montenegrin invasion of Kelmendi in 1924

Petrit Latifi

The Montenegrins, inspired by the Serbian imperialist non-stop invasions of Albania between 1912-1924, followed this path and invaded the Albanian region of Kelmendi. This was reported by Volkszeitung/Deutsche Volkszeitung on September 29, 1924.

“Rome. September 27: According to reports from Tivar, Montenegrin guerrillas have invaded Albanian territory near Kelmendi and plundered the border villages. The Albanian have begun a bitter defensive battle.”
