In 1913, the Pustertaler Bote published an article from the Albanian Correspondence citing a report from the Albanian Congress which said that the Albanians of Mirditë oppossed the Serb and Montenegrin invasion forces thus blocking the enemys access to Shkodër.

“Vienna, March 5. The “Albanian Correspondence” reports from Trieste: According to the reports received here to members of the Albanian Congress, the Miridite uprising against Montenegrins and Serbs has now become a complete fact. The Albanian Miridites have risen up and decided to block the Serbs access to Shkodër”
