Greek lies in 1932: Albanian border guards shoot a Greek

Greek paper “Akropolis” lies in 1932: Albanian border guards shoot a Greek

Petrit Latifi

Following the common theme of lying, the Greek paper “Akropolis” spread the unfounded statement that the Albanian border guards had killed a Greek solider. The truth was that the Albanian border guards ahd shot a smuggler named Tashi Keci who attempted to enter Albanian territory illegally.

“Furthermore, the report spread by the newspaper Akropolis that a Greek soldier was shot dead by individuals coming from Albania is not true. The fact is that an Albanian border guard felt compelled to shoot a smuggler, a certain Tashi Keci, who attempted to enter Albanian territory on the night of the 21st of this month accompanied by a relative.”
