In 1915, the Swedish historian Rudolf Kjellen wrote that the Serbs deserve their fate, as they had murdered their own royal family in 1903, massacred entire region of Albanians in 1912-1913, and by murdering the Austrian throne in 1914.

“The Tribunal over Serbia. The Deserved Fate of a People.
The German daily newspaper reports from Stockholm: The well-known historian Kjellen describes the Serbian people as a people that deserves its fate. Serbia has not fulfilled the duties incumbent upon it as a member of a strong community. Its history is a series of bloody feuds between the Obrenovic and Karageorgevic families. The people are characterized by the bloody night of November 11, 1903, by the extermination of entire regions with Albanian populations during the Balkan War, and by the murder of the heir to the Austrian throne”
