The Serb invaders refused to vacate from Albanian territories of Orosh, Mirditë and Malësia, stating that the “International Comission” did not exist. The chairman of the International Comission of Shkodër, Vice-Admiral Cecil Burney, send the Mirditë cheiftain Marko Gjoni to the Serbian commander in Oroshi with a written order to vacate the region. The Serbs refused and instead continued comitting atrocities. Later, the Serbs would murder Prince Ferdinand starting World War I. In 1915, the Serbs had to leave Albania and loosing 200,000 soldiers in the freezing mountains of Albania.

“The Serbs do not want to leave Albania.

In recent days, there have been repeated bloody clashes between the Serbian troops, who have advanced as far as the Qafa e Bullit and the Cafa e Thanit and fortified their positions, and the Malissors. Part of the population has fled to escape the atrocities they fear from the Serbs.

A meeting of the chiefs of the Dibra mountain tribes took place in Tirana to protest against the occupation of Albanian territories by Serbian troops. A protest adopted by this meeting was conveyed to the consuls in Durazzo. The chairman of the International Commission in Scutari, Vice-Admiral Cecil Burney, had sent the Mirditë chieftain, Marko Gjoni, to the Serbian commander in Orochi with a written order ordering him to vacate Oroschi and the other areas occupied by Serbian troops in Mirdita and Malësia, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the ambassadors reunion.

The Serbian commander declared that for him neither an International Commission nor an ambassadors reunion existed. He only respected the orders received from the command under his command in Prizren. Now the game in Albania will start all over again.”
