Serbian atrocities and war crimes in Ohër (Ohrid) in 1913

Petrit Latifi

In 1913, the Serbian troops, following the Serbian military trend of murdering, raping and pillaging in Albanian territories, entered Ohër and committed large scale atrocities against the Albanian population, shooting people, stealing food and domestic animals. In the “Lienzer Zeitung” from 1913 we can read:

“The Serbian atrocities. The Albanian Correspondent reports that Serbian troops have launched a terrible reign of terror in Ohrid and shot down all those suspected of belonging to the Albanian Freedom Movement. The entire country has been plundered. The Serbs have stolen all food and domestic animals from the villages, so that the population is facing famine”.
