In 1916, the “Volksblatt” published an article about arie Amelie Baroness Godin and her work in and for Albania through out the years from the formation of Albania. She was good friends with Isa Boletini, Ismail Qemali and Ekrem Bey Vlora.

“Lecture by Baroness Godin on Albania. The Bolzano audience can look forward to a very interesting evening, as the Bolzano Gries War Welfare Office has succeeded in securing Marie Amelie Baroness Godin for a slide presentation on Albania. The evening will take place on Monday, the 10th, in the hall of the Kaiser Franz Josef School, in aid of the Bulgarian Red Cross.

Baroness Godin can consider Albania her second home, for she has lived in Albania for only a few years and has a perfect command of the language. She counts her best friends there, and for eight years she has advocated in word and writing for Albania’s independence, based on Austria. She also sought to promote this idea in Albania herself. In 1912, Baroness Godin witnessed the Balkan War and Albania’s declaration of independence in the house of the Beys of Blora (Valona), a friend of hers. She knew Kemal Bey, Essad Pasha, and all the other Albanian leaders and politicians intimately. Isa Boletini was a friend of hers; as was Ekrem Bey Vlora, whom the Italians had recently illegally deported from Corfu to Sicily.”
