In 1913, the Serbian troops massacred many Albanians in the regions of Pishaj (Shipshaj), Gjylekar and Krasniqi. An article in the “Der Tiroler / Der Landsmann” writes:

“Cruelties of the Serbs. The “Albanian Correspondent” report from the area of ​​the Malesori tribe Krasniqi: The uprising of the Malisors was preceded by the most terrible cruelties perpetrated by Serbian troops against the Albanian population. The Serbs attacked the village of Gjylekar, burned it down completely, and killed many inhabitants. A fellow Albanian named Abdi Zeqe was captured with his family. The prisoners were burned alive in a kulla along with four other families.”

The men of the tribe took up arms, attacked the Serbian troops in their positions, and drove them out”1
