In 1921, Südtiroler Landeszeitung published an article about the Serbian Yugoslav attacks on Albanian territory. Among the troops were Russian Wrangel troops. Regions of Kastrioti and Arras were attacked by the Serb forces. Around 3,000 Albanians crossed the border to reach Ulqin, an Albanian majority city. The Yugoslav government demanded that the Albanian authorities evacuate the Drinë region with an Albanian population.

Cited from the article:
“The War in Albania.
Belgrade, September 26. The newspapers report that the Albanians have attacked the Serbian positions. 3,000 Albanians have crossed the demarcation line in front of the Ulqin, which had been in Yugoslav possession since 1918. The Yugoslav outposts, which had initially been pushed back by the Albanians, then recaptured some villages. The government has taken drastic measures to restore the demarcation line. The government has also informed the Entente powers
Rome, September 26. As reported from Tirana, the Yugoslavs issued an ultimatum demanding the evacuation of the Drinë area. The Albanian government protested by telegram to the League of Nations. After 24 hours, the Yugoslavs began shelling Arras and then occupied it.
The government in Tirana ordered the mobilization of the entire armed forces. Albanian troops immediately counterattacked and repulsed the Serbs, who had also occupied the area around Arras. Serbs and Russians belonging to General Wrangel’s former army were captured. In the Kastrioti area, Serbian-Montenegrin bands were repulsed by the Albanians.”
Despite non-stop atrocities committed by Serbian and Yugoslav troops on the Albanian people between 1912-1921, roughly 9 years of constant war crimes, the papers of Belgrade had the audacity to claim that “Albanian troops adopted a threatening posture”
“Belgrade, September 27. The newspapers report that all of Albania is mobilized and troops are concentrating on the Albanian front. The Albanian troops are adopting a threatening posture”.
