When Austro-Hungarian submarines sank Montenegrin ships in 1916

Between 1912 and 1915, the Montenegrin imperialist hegemony had resulted in Albanian territories being taken and Albanians massacred. When Austro-Hungary invaded Montenegro, these Slavic atrocities ended slightly. In 1916, Austro-Hungarian submarines patrolled the Albanian coast and opened fire and sanked Montenegrin ships carrying supplies. Austo-Hungarian submarines also fired at a steamer carrying 2,000 tons of Montenegrin provisions near San Giovanni de Medua.

Cited:

“On Thursday, it was officially announced in Cetinje: Supplying Montenegro is becoming completely impossible, the situation is becoming more difficult every day. Austrian-Hungarian submarines are attacking sailors and steamers on our and the Albanian coast. On December 29, a Montenegrin sailing ship carrying provisions was sunk near Ulqin; today, the same fate befell a steamer carrying 2,000 tons of provisions near San Giovanni di Medua”.
