Serbian atrocities in Durrës

“Looting in Albania. Vienna, April 5. The “Albanian Correspondence” receives a report from Durazzo: News is coming in from all over the country reporting looting by the Serbs. The Serbian soldiers are breaking into the shops and carrying off everything of any value, especially junk, antiques, valuable old weapons, and cash. Anyone who protests against this looting is mistreated; anyone who resists is in danger of being killed.”

Montenegrin atrocities in Shengjin

“The same correspondence receives a report from San Giovanni di Medua: For several days now, one can make a strange observation here. Montenegrin women have been arriving in large numbers in Antivari with empty sacks and then returning by ship after filling their bags with all kinds of looted items Since the beginning of the siege of Stutari, this type of transport of looted valuables has been systematically practiced.

A whole troop of such women is in the company of the besiegers. When the besiegers recently made some progress and it appeared that they would soon enter the city, this corps advanced. However, the troops’ attack was repulsed, and a large number of female members of the looting gang were wounded. 24 of them are currently in the military hospital in Podgoriza.”
