In 1914, the “Lienzer Nachrichten” published an article reporting that the Greek forces attacked Albanian villages. A Serbian diplomatic official stated that he believed “in the imminent restoration of the previous situation in Albania”. Meaning, to once again invade Albania and establish a head quarter in Durrës.

“The critical situation in Albania.
The insurgents in Albania have largely dispersed and returned to their field work; their headquarters still exists, but they are already so weakened that there is no immediate danger to the prince or the capital, Durrës.
Far more critical is the revival of the Epirote movement in southern Albania, which is taking advantage of the helplessness of the prince and the country and is now, despite the agreements, once again attacking the badly afflicted Albania.
Greek newspapers are even reporting the highly suspicious report that the Greek government has ordered very serious military measures on the Albanian border as a result of Albanian incursions into Greek territory. Artillery, ammunition transports, and troop reinforcements have been dispatched to the Albanian-Epirot border.
If this is true, it would also signify a major Greek effort to dismember Albania, in which Serbia would likely soon participate. A Serbian diplomatic official recently stated that he believed “in the imminent restoration of the previous situation in Albania,” namely that the Serbs intend to set up camp again in Durazzo. The situation in Albania is certainly critical.”
