In 1911, Turkish commander Cohemi Pasha assaulted the Albanian fighters in Albanian villages around Shkodër and Malësi e Madhe.

“The operations against the Malisors in Albania, interrupted due to bad weather, resumed on the 24th of this month. Troops of the First Division occupied the Dedaj, Gradeca, Vulpale, Trabunik, and Nuvantepe mountain ridges. Cohemi Pasha’s column, operating from Gucia, occupied the village of Vukli after a six-hour battle in a blizzard. The Vali of Kosovo reports that two Montenegrins were killed in a battle between Montenegrins and Turkish soldiers from the Frosta post in the Mojkovac zone”.
