Zborc village

The village of Zborc in the municipality of Shtime lies between the Carraleva and Blinaja mountain ranges, due to the good geographical position in this village and around it, many different wars and battles have been fought for the protection of Albanian lands at different stages of Albanian history, until the last war of the Kosovo Liberation Army 1998-1999.

Zaim Hamza from Topojani i Luma was an Albanian hero and martyr who fell heroically in 1912 against Serbian invaders.

In this village, we find traces of these events and historical developments of battles, wars and freedom fighters through the existence of graves, memorial plaques, tombstones and place names in various forms. In the village of Zobroc, in respect and memory of the 1912 war, a road has been named “Luma 1912” that leads to the “White Grave”, where the body of the warrior leader Zaim Hamza (1860-1912) from the village of Topojan in the Luma region in Albania rests.

Resistance against Serbian invaders in Shtimje, Caralevë and Duhël

On October 21, 1912, alongside the Bajrak of the Doda Fortress, Opojë and Luma, composed of 3000 Luma residents and other Albanians, the Topojan residents fought selflessly against the Serbian army, in Shtimje – Caralevë and Duhël, but these battles were extended to the village of Zborc and beyond. The Albanians were led by the brave Ahmet Iljaz Qehja, Zaim Hamza and Abdyl Mirtja.
