In this publication titled “M. D. SKOPIANSKY. Ancien rédacteur du Journal Macédonien « La Patrie » LES d’après les témoignages américains, anglais, français, italiens, russes, serbes, suisses, etc., etc”, we can read of Serbian atrocities against Bulgarians in 1913.
“PART THREE. Serbian atrocities in Bulgaria.. The treatment of the Austro-Hungarians. The “Serbian family” (!?). CHAPTER ONE. Serbian atrocities in Bulgaria
Serbian imperialism can clearly only manifest itself through persecution, robbery and rape, massacres, in a word, the most refined extermination of an entire population. This has already been observed in Macedonia and Albania. Now the same events are being repeated in Bulgaria. We know that part of western Bulgaria was invaded by the Serbs during the Second Balkan War of 1913.
However, here too, the scenario has not changed: robbery, rape, as everywhere else. And yet, according to them, it was nothing less than a part of Serbia, populated by Serbs of the finest race. Here is what we read on this subject in Serbia on June 10, 1917: “Now, the Serbian elements who go as far as the Iskar River are the purest Serbian elements, which is proven not only by certain linguistic characteristics (their dialect, which is that of the Serbs of Serbia), but also by their customs, such as the Slava, a celebration of the patron saint of the family, a fact that exists only among the Serbs.”
This festival, reminiscent of paganism, is celebrated by all the peoples of the Balkans. Albanians, Bulgarians, Kutzo-Vlachs, and even nomadic Gypsies observe the feast of a patron saint. Are they Serbs for that?
See the brochure Macedonia as it is, p. 29.”
