The Greater Serbia hegemony was a phenomena of irrendentist and chauvinist propaganda nature which spread among Serbian students in Berlin. In the paper “Volkszeitung/Deutsche Volkszeitung” we can read of a German police investigaton against the Serbian demagogical ideology of the time. This was shortly after the the Serbian murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

“The Greater Serbian Conspiracy.

Berlin, July 9. In Berlin, the persecution of Serbian students has now also begun. The police are searching for the Greater Serbian Conspiracy. Numerous Serbian students were searched who are said to be members of a Serbo-Slovenian association called “‘Unity.”

Berlin, July 9. As the “Lokalanzeiger” reports, the propaganda pamphlets confiscated by the Berlin police from the board members of the Serbian-Slovenian-Croatian association “Jedinstvo” in Berlin are currently being translated. Since this work will not be completed before Monday, a decision on any police measures against the Serbian students cannot be expected beforehand. As long as they are enrolled at the university, they are subject to the jurisdiction of the university judge, who has been notified by the police”.
