The Serb atrocities against the Albanians of Neshat in Nish in 1865

Petrit Latifi

In 1865, on June 26, the Revalsche Zeitung published an article about Serbian atrocities. 60 Serbs attacked the Albanians in the border village of Neshat, in modern day Nish, and killed many of them. This was a whole decade before the Serbian ethnic cleansing of Albanians in Toplica, Kurshumli and Nish in 1878.

Cited:

“Constantinople, July 4 (June 22). Sixty Serbs attacked the Albanians in the border village of Neshat and killed many of them.”
