In this interesting documentary by Marin Mema, there is a study of a journal from the Serbian Society of Sciences from 1875, published in Belgrad, citing a 15th century chronicle by Stefan Lazarevic, states that the Balshaj (Бальша, Balša) were Albanian lords.
