Serbian propaganda from 1902: Slavicizing or Serbicizing Albanians of Zveqan

In this photograph, taken from a Serbian publication, we can see locals of Zveqan dressed in Albanian folklore dress. The names of all family members in the photo are written. However, the Serbian author claims these locals, of the Radenkovic family, are Serbs. This is yet another evidence of Serbian propaganda. These are in fact Serbicized Albanians who have adopted Serbian names.

Translation:

“The Radenković family is one of the most respected and famous families in the village of Bugarić, today the village of Srbovac, in the municipality of Zvečan. The photo is from 1902. Bogdan Radenković (no. 4 in the city uniform at that time) was the most famous national tribune of Serbs from the area of Kosovo and Metohija.

The fate of this Serbian nationalist was destined to suffer at the hands of the Belgrade authorities in the Thessaloniki Process. Radenković was suspected of being involved in a plot to assassinate the Serbian Crown Prince Alexander Karađorđević and Nikola Pašić. He died in the prison hospital on July 30, 1917.”
