Serbian propaganda trying to steal Albanian wool tirqe and make them Slavic

The Serbian propaganda site “Друштво љубитеља историје” recently published a post with a drawing of an alleged “mens costume, Metohija Kosovo”. This is a fabrication and lie, as the drawing is of an Albanian traditional attire. This drawing is not a Serb, but of an Albanian.

Text in the drawing says: “Fig. 8. Men’s costume, Metohija, Kosovo, Serbia, second half of the 19th century. Watercolor by Marija Živković. Collection of paintings of the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade.”

Lie: This is not a “Serbian mens costume from Metohija Kosovo”.

Truth: This is an Albanian wool dress, called “Tirqe”, worn by northern Albanians.
