The Albanian lord Abdullah Milosh of Morava in the 1820s

Abdullah Milosh, often referred to as Arnautin Abdullah in old sources, was a notable Albanian lord of the Morava region of modern day Serbia. Abdullah ruled over Albanian-inhabited regions of Rama, Peć, Golubac, and Upper Kruševac. Eventually, he got into a conflict with the Serbian lord Stevan Dobrnjac. Sources from the period indicate disputes over taxation, resource control, and local governance, with Abdullah asserting his authority over surrounding villages.

Letters preserved from the period show the tension between Abdullah and Serbian leaders. For example, in 1820, he reported severe shortages of wood due to Stevan Dobrnjac’s interference with surrounding villages, emphasizing his reliance on Ottoman and local authority to maintain his estates.
