The Serbian criminal convicted of war crimes in Kosovo, Nebojsa Pavkovic, died today at the age of 79. He was found guilty by the Hague Tribunal of participating in a joint criminal enterprise, the purpose of which was the persecution and forcible removal of Albanians from Kosovo.
Pavkovic was also found guilty of murder. According to the first instance decision of 2009, he was charged with a widespread campaign of violence directed against the civilian Albanian population of Kosovo, carried out by forces under the control of the [Yugoslav] and Serbian authorities, during which there were incidents of murder, sexual assault and the deliberate destruction of mosques.
