The Albanian victory against Montenegrin forces led by Savo Jokov Radunović in Šteke near Berim of Mokra Gora in Zubin Potok in 1877

In 1877, Montenegrin invasion forces, led by Savo Jokov Radunović, attacked the region of Šteke near Berim of Mokra Gora in Zubin Potok. However, the 5000 Albanian troopers defeated Radunović who later died in a hospital. The same day, Montenegrins invaded Nikshiq (Nikšić). This information was gathered from the newspaper “FLAG”, no. 147, dated 21.09.1877.

Montenegrin trooper Savo Jokov Radunović died from wounds sustained on August 27, 1877, during fighting at Šteke near Berim, today northern Kosovo. At the time, this region was part of the Ottoman Empire, though it lay close to Montenegro’s northern border. Montenegrin expansionist goals sought to acquire Albanian territories during the Montenegrin–Ottoman War (1876–1878).

According to contemporary reports, Radunović commanded 500 Montenegrin fighters facing Albanians, numbering 5000. Radunović was wounded in the fight. His death occurred on the same day that Nikšić was invaded by Montenegrin forces.
