In 1877, the paper “Glasu Crnogorca” wrote of a battle between the Montenegrin expansionist forces and the Albanian fighters at the region of Rasina Glavica near Shpuz. The Albanians were heavily outnumbered by the Montenegrin forces led by Mr. Božo Petrović and Duke Ilija Plamenac. These Montenegrin assault, coupled with the hiring of bandits, led to Montenegro expanding on Albanian territories and atrocities against Albanians.

“Glasu Crnogorca” writes:
“The Battle of Rasina Glavica” like this: On Saturday, June 4, just before dawn, 8 camps in rows and 4-5 camps of Bashibazouks (Arbanas Malisori) set out from Spuzje towards Rasina Glavica. Our army consisted of two battalions: from Lješan and Ceklin, which our commander-in-chief, Mr. Božo Petrović, had arranged most conveniently.
The battle was first opened by the outposts on Rasina Glavica, which, fighting, began to retreat in an orderly manner towards Suka, the hill above Rasina Glavica. At Suka, about 200 more soldiers joined the retreating outposts, which, thus reinforced, fiercely fought the Turks until they had passed by on the right wing, in order to capture Sađavac, a hill that commands all positions from Plana.
Then, by order, our men retreated back from Suka. The Turks had already reached half of Sađavac, and having come very close to our covered positions without resistance, they were attacked by an attack from our side from Sađavac, and immediately, without any resistance, they took to wild flight, pursued by our men to Suka and Rasina Glavica. Here, the fleeing Turks were held back and supported by a reserve, who stood on Srebrna Glavica.
Now the Turks attacked Suka with even greater force, and they tried to suppress the Montenegrins, who were helped by Duke Ilija Plamenac with two battalions of Bjelopavlić. Now the Montenegrins attacked the Turks with doubled force and drove them all the way to Rasina Glavica.
The Montenegrins defeated the Turks four times down the Suka river, taking it and abandoning it, until they finally pushed them back to Srebrna Glavica, which lies near Spuz, and on which the Turkish tents are located. The Turkish loss is great: there will be about 2000 dead and wounded. Ours 28 dead and 40 wounded.
A lot of Ostragush (prisoners) as well as flintlocks and other weapons were taken. The battle lasted from 5 o’clock in the morning until two o’clock in the afternoon. In this battle, the Albanians suffered the most.”
