In 1924, the Serbian paper “Vreme” paper published an article an incident in Ferizaj where Kaçak Albanians, fighting for freedom, among them a certain Ibish Vushtrija, visited another Albanian in Oraovci asking for food. When the host denied them, they threatened him. The hosts brother then appeared with an axe. The Kaçaks, thinking they were in danger, opened fire and killing the host. The brother hid behind a wall. This alerted local Serb gendarmeries who arrived and engaged in a battle. One Serb was killed and another was wounded. The Kaçaks then retreated.

“THE FIGHT WITH THE KACHAKS IN FERIZAJ. Skopje, April 24. — The fight with the Kachaks in the village of Oraovci, near Ferizaj, which Vreme reported yesterday, went according to subsequent reports as follows:
On the night between April 22 and 23 , four Kachaks, from the company of the well-known outlaw Ibiš Vučitrlija (alb. Ibish Vushtrija) came to the house of a prominent Arnautin from the village of Oraovci . The Kachaks asked the householder for food, but he replied: “I swore that I would not give bread to the Kachaks and that I would not help them.” The Kachaks then began to threaten him, and at that moment Arnautin’s brother appeared on the doorstep with an axe in his hand.
The Kachaks, thinking they were going to be attacked, fired several shots and killed the host, while his brother took shelter behind the wall in time. The authorities in Ferizaj were immediately informed about this murder. A clerk with gendarmes set out in the morning to carry out the search, and as soon as he entered the village, the same Kachakas awaited him from an ambush, killing one gendarme and wounding another. The nearby gendarmerie stations, alerted, immediately came to his aid and engaged in combat with the Kachaks. After a short fight, they retreated in the direction of Giljan. It is not yet known whether the Kačaks suffered any losses. (Vreme)”
