The Albanian tribe of Turi near Spizza (Spiç) close to Tivar in the 19th century

In the book “Studi Albanesi”, volume II, 1934, we find information that the Albanian border began at Spizza (Spiç) which included the Albanian tribes of Turi, Hoti, Gruda and Triepshi. On page 145 we can read:

“Albania demanded territorial integrity within the Albanian ethnographic frontier. This border (see attached map), which is useful to remember, starts from the bay of Spizza north of Antivari, includes the tribes of Turi, Hoti, Gruda and Triepchi, the city of Podgoritza (1), and continues along the Montenegrin border.”

In the foot note we can read:

“I territori albanesi di Zabliak, Podgoritza ed altri più ad est, erano stati incorporati nel Montenegro in seguito alla Decisione 28 giugno 1880 della Conferenza di Berlino.”

Translation:

“The Albanian territories of Zabliak (Zhablak) Podgoritza (Podgoricë) and others further east, had been incorporated into Montenegro following the Decision of 28 June 1880 of the Berlin Conference.”
