Despite Montenegrin expansionism into Albanian territories, many battles were lost, particularly the ones of Grlić (Grlić Polje), Glavica (near Shpuz), Orja Luka (Crmnica), and Žagarić (Danilovgrad) in 1862.

“Last Thursday, the Montenegrins were beaten one after the other at Gerlitschi, Glavizza, Orjaluka and Zagarac. However, the Montenegrins claim victory for themselves and attribute enormous losses to the Turks.”
